WORLD DAY AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING- 30TH July, 2023

Following a noble event by our partners Azadi Kenya, we were humbled to grace the occasion to attend and commemorate the day against human trafficking on the 30th of July 2023. Together with our Executive Director, we were pleased to grace the occasion which is organized by UN General Assembly annually on the world day against human trafficking.

Member nations are required to adopt this resolution “A/RES/68/192”, where on the 30TH July of every year, it’s designated as the World Day against Human Trafficking.

What Was Achieved?

In commemorating this day organized by Azadi Kenya, we were able to achieve the following:

  1. Understand storytelling and how different lived experiences of human trafficking and stories are told in different mediums of commutations i.e. photos, verbal stories and physical art that showcases how survivors can be authors and critics of their own stories and experiences;
  1. We managed to Increase awareness both internally and externally, while understanding and increasing awareness on human trafficking; and
  1. We fostered a deeper appreciation for art while providing a platform for the creatives to share their unique visions with the community to prompt conversations among other interactions on matters human rights.

We believe and know that as Refugee Legal networks, this is an extremely helpful event that improves interactions with refugees on a daily basis.
