As the world marked the World Refugee Day on 20^th June, 2024 under the theme “To a world where refugees are welcome” the Anyuak refugees in Kakuma Refugee Camp and Kalobeyei Refugee Settlement woke up to savage attacks by other Refugees leaving hundreds injured, displaced and some alleged fatalities. It is reported that others fled to other cities e.g. Kisumu and Nairobi for fear of being involuntarily returned back to the camps.
